Is Hines Ward dancing with a possible coaching career at Georgia?

Hines Ward (r) with UGA player Chris Conley.
Hines Ward, former Georgia Bulldog, Pittsburgh Steeler, and Dancing With the Stars legend was at Georgia spring practice in Athens on Tuesday. Ward roamed the sidelines clad in Red and Black UGA coach's gear (provided via the UGA equipment room). This is a sign of what occupation he's looking to get into now that his playing career is over.

“He’s just trying to see if that’s something he wants to go into,” said (Georgia offensive coordinator Mike) Bobo. “He’s going to spend some time over here, a couple of days to see what all we do. Not just out there in practice, but to see, hey, what do you do out there in recruiting, kind of see if that’s something he wants to do, kind of like when coaches come and visit.”

This isn't the first time a coaching job has crossed the two-time Super Bowl champion wide receiver's mind, either.

"Ward created a stir among Georgia fans when he told Atlanta’s  WXIA-TV earlier this year that he teases Georgia coach Mark Richt about wanting to join his coaching staff.

“If he wants to hire me, hire me,” Ward said. “That would be my ultimate dream job to come back and coach at the University of Georgia.”

Ward on Mark Richt's coaching staff would get the Bulldog fanbase excited, and most certainly would be a plus when it comes to recruiting. It might be good idea for Richt to figure out a roll for Ward on the coaching staff somewhere. Though he probably won't listen to most UGA fan's ideas about giving Ward Mike Bobo's offensive coordinator job. At least not right out of the starting gate.
