Dancing in the Ruins: Robert Griffin III, Mack Brown, Mike Stoops, and...Hooters?

(Dancing in the Ruins is SWRT's look at the Big XII Conference. Or at least what's left of it.)

RGIII's the Manning.
Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III wins the Manning Award. The Colts are still probably pick Andrew Luck as the overall no. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, though. (baylorbears.com)

Where Do We Go from Here?
Carter Strickland asks what's next for Texas after signing head football coach to a four-year extension that keeps him around Austin (in theory) until 2020. (ESPN)

Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of.
The Big 12's 2012 schedule remains in a holding pattern while new conference member-n-waiting West Virginia and Big East fight over when the Mountaineers can officially change allegiances. (The Tulsa World)

Sealing the deal.
Oklahoma signs new defensive coordinator Mike Stoops to a three-year, $1.8 million-dollar contract. (Rivals.com)

The Commitments.
Kansas adds a pair of commitments in Houston, TX high school defensive back Greg Allen and JUCO transfer defensive lineman Chaquil Reed. (The Kansas City Star)

The Big 12: Delightfully tacky, but unrefined.
Dave Sittler suggests that Hooters CEO Terrance Marks (or someone like him) should be the next Commissioner of the Big 12. Sadly, this move wouldn't be in time to force Texas A&M to allow women to be Yell Leaders.  (The Tulsa World)
