Crossing the Atlantic: Virginia Tech, Miami, Coach K, and more

(Crossing the Atlantic is a look at the ACC and other schools on the East Coast.)

It may not make the Hokies feel any better, but...The Boise St. Virginia Tech game on ESPN was the  highest-rated college football game on the WWL since FSU-Miami in 1994. Combined with ESPN3, if was the most watched college football game in ESPN history. (ESPN)

You cant spell Marijuana without "The U." Miami baseball team infielder Frank Ratcliff arrested on campus for marijuana posession. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

"A-push me and I will resist. This behavior's not unique." Maryland alumni are a bit upset about the behavior of the schools supporters against Navy. Apparently this isn't an isolated incident for Terrapin fans. (The Diamondback)

Death Valley, hypocrisy central? Clemson blog Shakin' The Southland mocks Boston College for playing Weber State. Boston College blog BC Interruption retorts back via Twitter that the Tigers play lowly Presbyterian State this week, along with the obvious retort. (Shakin' the Southland)

Never forgive, never forget. Coach K is still mad about the Soviets stealing the basketball gold medal from the USA in the 1972 Olympics. Never have these words been more appropriate: Cue the Carolina Liar! (Deadspin)
